WELDING TECHNOLOGY

The objectives of the Welding Technology course are to develop the manipulative skills and technical knowledge required to pass entry-level employment qualifications for certifications or certification tests.


The course includes instruction and practice in oxyfuel cutting, manual shielded arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, flux cored arc welding, plasma cutting, carbon arc gouging, math and blueprints for welders.

Electricity 1

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of electrical construction industries.

 

This program focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of all aspects of the electricity industry, and demonstrates such elements of the industry as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues. 

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioner / Refrigeration 1 (HVAC)

This program is a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on lab work and independent study to give the basics in the installation and repair of equipment. The program emphasis includes troubleshooting and repair of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.


Refrigerant recovery and recycling are also stressed to comply with the CFC requirements. Students should elect to take the CFC Certification test, which may be arranged through the school. Testing fees are the student's responsibility. CFC certification is required by the EPA for employees that work with refrigerants. This test is a requirement for graduation and gives students a competitive advantage when seeking employment.

Building Trades and Construction Technology

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in the building construction industry.


Building Construction Technologies prepares students to apply a full range of carpentry skills including print reading, estimating, building codes interpretation, rough framing, finish trim, windows, doors, roofing, stairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Masonry, and more.
